Who is Lee V. Evans?

Lee V. Evans is a professional grant writer in California. She has been a voracious reader all her life and a lover of travel and history. Her kindle book "In the School of Affliction" is a historical fiction about the life and times of Daniel Defoe. The paperback version of "In the School of Affliction" has just been competed and may be purchased for those, like myself, who prefer "book in hand."

This book was eight years in the making, and started me on a whole new reason to get back into travel--Research!! There is truly nothing like studying up, finding out a bit more about your subject, and then just Going There!! Which, for this book, meant going to all of Defoe's hideouts in London and then up to Edinburgh, Scotland. What a delight it was actually finding the house where he rented out a shop on the high street, right next to the Knox House.

Continuing in that vein, the book I am currently writing has taken me to places I had never anticipated: Budapest, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Latvia, Croatia and Slovenia. The result is that I have been fortunate to go to places and meet people who have shared their experiences and perspectives. This can only inform and guide in the work I undertake.
